Let's suppose that tomorrow morning your phone rings, and at the other line a warm voice wold inform you that you have been elected for a scolarship in United Kingdom (for example).
Would you go, and if yes, would you prefere to remain there after your studyes would be finished?

I would go with the happiest mind if and only if I could take my loved one with me and yes I would stay there after I finished with my sudies if I would be given the oportunity for a good job !

Ok, call me naive, but I really think that if we want to we can change something, so, i don't want to stay in another country too long. I admit that i would go there for studies, for... i don't know learning new aspesct in my area, but...not living there all my life.

Of course, I'll grow up, go to school, i'll realise that this is a dream, am maybe with the first ocasion i'll go as far as i'll see, so...Don't know...

Yes, I'd most definitely want to go study in the UK. As a matter of fact, I was there last month for school interviews. But I guess I have to wait for that scholarship to come, because I can't possibly afford to pay 6060 pounds/year for an HND in Media! And what bugs me the most is that if Romania were in the UE, the cost would have been... *drumrolls please*... 89 pounds per year! How screwed up is that?!

And no, I don't think I'd ever want to come back and live in Romania. For a vacation, maybe, but nothing more. I'm beginning to hate this country more and more as time goes by.

Anyways, good luck with obtaining that scholarship, everyone! Razz

hmmm... everyone wants to leave Romania... but why? Romania it's a beautifull country even if they are thiefes and other bad things around... if we leave... we would let our mother country in hands of bad people... why are we so selfish? we find leaving a better thing then fighting for a better life here...

i won a scholarship for a law university in florida. the house where i was supposed to stay at was 10 minutes away from the beach! and everything, all my expenses, would have been taken care of (nope, no money for me to give). i said no Smile

if every decent person left romania, where would we be at? Wink

I don't think you did the right thing by saying "no" to such an offer ! It's not like you left Romania for good. You could always come back and work in Romania afterwards. Take my case, for instance: I studied abroad (MBA in Oxford), I worked abroad for eight years and I came back to work in Romania (true, for a Western company, but in Romania).
There's nothing wrong with studying abroad or even working for some time !

if i were to study law (not literature or advertising, but LAW) in teh states, i couldn't possibly come back and expect to practice it here. a lot of exams, a different law system and different laws. it would mean i studied 4 years for nothing. of course, i could work for a western company... but i like the romanian type. backs my finances up.
and about the saying no part, i love romania...i gave the scholarship a lot of though and decided it was best for me to stay Smile
